Anish Kapoor, The Tall Tree and the Eye, at Leeum

©2015 Soonuk Jung[/caption] The towering set of stainless steel bubbles seen in the image is Anish Kapoor’s installation “The Tall Tree and the Eye”. It seems there are multiple versions of this sculpture around the world. The one at the Royal Academy of Arts, London has 76 balls. Another one in Guggenheim, Bilbao, Spain, has 73 spheres. This one, located at Leeum Samsung Museum of Art, Seoul, Korea, has 70. I wonder if there is any meaning to the number of spheres.]]>
