44 years ago, on June 24, 1964, my grandfather Kyu-Man Jung passed away at the age of 58, reportedly due to complications resulting from diabetes.
I do not have a memory of him. I was only three years old when he died. I believe I wasn’t even allowed to attend the funeral because I was too small to take care of in the midst of the whole flurry of visitors and mourners.
There are lots of stories told about my grandfather. He was rather a recognizable person in his local community during his time.
But stories are not like memories. I wish I had more memories of my late grandfather.
