Frog Eggs

Since my early childhood, slimy creatures such as snails, worms, and frogs gave me shudders. I was always scared of such things. Thus, I have no memory of ever touching them with my hands. I didn’t like insects, either. Although I usually enjoyed observing them from a distance but I rarely attempted to experience what they would feel like in my hands. Some people, to my amazement, seem to have no difficulty getting intimate with amphibians, reptiles, insects, or fish. For instance, my daughter Joan showed no hesitation in pulling up the gel-like thread of frog eggs from a pond this afternoon. (Photo above) Perhaps it might be something each person with born with. I should at least try to overcome this phobia before I die because it would be such a loss not to know firsthand how some of God’s creation feels like in my hands.]]>
