Until today, I thought “Betty Crocker” was a real person. According to “The Story of Betty Crocker“, Betty Crocker is a name that was created by a flour company in 1921 in order to personalize responses to consumer inquiries.
Betty Crocker’s Picture Cook Book was first published in 1950, followed by more than 250 versions. My mother’s copy is just one of them, printed in the latter half of 1970s.
