A section on the bookshelf of one of my uncles.
On the left side are the collection of books by Ayn Rand. He has read these books over and over again since his college years. He even bought several copies of Atlas Shrugged to give as gifts, one of which was given to me.
This 1168-page tome was first published in 1957. I wonder whether she wrote the 561,996-word text by hand or typed it.

사진은 최근 방문할 기회가 있어서 들여다 본 한 어른의 서재. 공대 출신으로서 제조업을 운영하시는 이 분이 수준 높은 영어를 구사하신다는 건 알고 있었지만 이 분의 저력의 뿌리를 직접 보는 느낌은 꽤 충격적이었다. 특히 Ayn Rand의 책들은 대학 시절부터 여러 번 반복해서 읽으셨다고. 그 중에서도 Atlas Shrugged를 좋아하시는데 이건 1,168 페이지짜리 대작이다.]]>
